At TaSMAT, the needs of children and their families always come first. Our key aims are child centred and focus on preparing children and young people for the next stage in their learning and development and for adulthood. We aim to:
We are outward looking and always keen to work with people whose values align with ours. As well as providing great experiences and outcomes for children, our staff and governors work collaboratively to create a professional, friendly, collegiate and supportive environment in which everyone can thrive.
Our School leaders take pride in supporting our staff to be as effective as possible in fulfilling our shared aims. We constantly receive glowing feedback from visitors to our schools, including, parents, prospective trainee teachers and applicants for all posts. We take pride in ensuring staff who join our team are supported in their development to become highly effective in supporting our pupils. Sometimes staff join us from mainstream settings, or from non-education roles and in these cases, we ensure induction support is provided that suits their individual requirements.
The best reason of all to work at one of our schools is the opportunity to support our amazing and inspiring children and young people. Some people can be unsure that working in the area of SEND is right for them. If in any doubt about working in a special school setting, we would encourage a prospective applicant to visit our school and to meet some of our pupils (and colleagues) who would be happy to talk to them about life at school. Senior colleagues will be happy to discuss opportunities for career progression that could be available to them.
