At TaSMAT, the board of directors is the accountable body for the trust. The board fulfils a number of statutory duties and functions and is the legal entity that operates the schools within the trust. They are bound by the Academies Handbook, the terms of their master funding agreement with the DfE and their Articles of Association.
Directors are supported in their work by the Academy Advisory Board (AAB), whose responsibilities are described within our governor handbook. The AAB is a committee of governors who support the board of directors in fulfilling their statutory duties of governance. Collectively, the directors and AAB members are our governors, although the board of directors remain the accountable body.
All our governors are appointed, other than staff and parent governors who are elected members of the AAB.
