Asia class had a fantastic first morning at The Bright Foundation's Benbow Arts Space. In a 2 hour session a lot was covered, including some history of the moving image, with demonstrations of early equipment including a wonderful zoetrope.
The class visited the mini-cinema to be inspired further by examples of famous clay animations (Morph and Chicken Run) with an explanation of how these were made.
The children then worked to design their own characters which they crafted from clay. These were they used to begin shooting their own stop-motion animations.
Asia’s educational visits to the Bright Foundation are an invaluable opportunity to develop our pupils' understanding of art, computing and history and we can’t wait for our next visit.
